Moon Yoga

Moon Yoga is a creative new class concept developed by our teacher Andrea Rose, which includes four different standard classes meant to rotate each week, in conjunction with the phases of the moon. The flows and pacing will therefore be different from week to week, but will remain the same for each moon phase (i.e. each Full Moon class will be the same as the other Full Moon classes, but different from New Moon classes; and repeating every 4 weeks).

Andrea Rose developed these four classes in connection with her interpretation of moon symbolism. While your interpretations may be different, hereโ€™s what you can expect from the various weeks. Show up for the ones you prefer, or stay committed throughout the cycle! 

  • Full Moon Week

    • Keywords: inner winter, introspection, receptivity, restful, slow and low

    • Poses: yin/restorative, hips and pelvis, moon salutations, longer savasana

  • Waning Moon Week

    • Keywords: inner spring, refreshing, cleansing, building energy

    • Poses: medium energy, twists, playful poses connecting movement with breath

  • New Moon Week

    • Keywords: inner summer, vibrance, magnetism, clarity toward goals and purpose

    • Poses: highest energy, vinyasa style, sun salutations

  • Waxing Moon Week

    • Keywords: inner autumn, letting go, preparing to rest, allowing discomfort

    • Poses: medium energy, forward folds, balance poses
